Neckline Slimmer Neck Exerciser
Written by Vlad on August 11, 2010 – 2:08 pm - 2,756 viewsThe neck exerciser is a small piece of exercise equipment to help you exercise your neck and jaw muscles. It consists of a spring-loaded plastic piston – top end has a curved end designed to support the jaw, and the bottom end rests on the base of your neck.
I paid just under $20 on eBay for it, including shipping to Australia.
Why I bought the Neck Exerciser
I work in front of a computer. Even though I do visit the gym and do dance classes, I am only exercising a portion of my body’s muscles.
The idea of having a solid jaw and preventing myself from developing a sagging ‘double-chin’ appealed to me, and because it seemed so cheap, I thought it was worth a try.
How to Use the Neck Exerciser
You can use it in two ways – slowly nod your head forward until the piston is fully compressed, and then slowly relax until the piston is released.
Alternatively, you can keep your head clenched forward and hold the neckline slimmer in the compressed position, wait, and then release it.
The instructions recommend 30 repetitions, twice a day. They claim that after 2 weeks, sagging of the neck should be reduced. The packaging has a beautiful before and after shot of a woman who tightened up her neck.
If you need more resistance, you can unscrew the exerciser and swap the spring with a stiffer one. They are colour-coded red, green and blue, in order of stiffness. I actually found the blue one too easy, to I stretched it out myself to make it more challenging. Perhaps men already have naturally strong jaw muscles compared to women?
